We are Megan & Bill, co-founders of Crescent Simples! We met bartending in New Orleans. We have always loved entertaining, cooking and making cocktails together. In those days, it was common for friends and bartenders to walk by our French Quarter house on their way home from work and stop in for a delicious cocktail made with one of our homemade syrups. We always had multiple flavors in the fridge featuring fresh fruit and herbs.
In early 2019, Megan suffered a life-changing back injury and we moved to Virginia to be closer to family. Unable to walk or stand for much more than 30 minutes at a time, Megan was going stir crazy on the couch and spent her time reading books about cocktails and dreaming of new simple syrup flavors. As she recovered, friends and family suggested selling the delicious homemade syrup at the local farmer's market. We found the options for flavoring drinks on the market to be lacking, and we knew we could do it better. We wanted to make high-quality syrups that would appeal to both home bar hobbyists and serious career bartenders. We decided on our core flavors and agreed on our company mission: to elevate the experience of the home bartender by creating accessible beverage products using only the best ingredients (and nothing else!).
