Strawberry Basil Recipes

A few of our favorite cocktail and mocktail recipes to make with our Strawberry Basil simple syrup!

Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Martini

2 oz vodka

.5 oz Godiva chocolate liqueur

.5 oz Creme de Cacao

.5 oz Strawberry Basil Simple Syrup

If you need it quickly, just shake all the ingredients up in a shaker with ice and strain into a martini glass or coupe. If you have time, garnish this drink to high heaven! Add chocolate syrup to the glass, garnish it with chocolate curls, and plop a chocolate-covered strawberry on the rim!

Frosé

4 oz Rosé

1 oz vodka

.5 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

1-2 handfuls ice cubes

Make it Zero Proof: Skip the vodka and use dealcoholized rosé

We love our Strawberry Basil in froze because it really highlights the strawberry notes that can already be found in a lot of rosés. We've stiffened this one up a little bit with an ounce of vodka, but feel free to leave that out if you want to keep it light. To make it, just add all the ingredients to a blender! This recipe is great for sizing up -- just multiply it by however many servings you'd like to get.

Gimlet

2 oz gin

.75 oz lime juice

.75 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

Shake all your ingredients with ice and strain into a coupe. Garnish by floating a slice of a fresh strawberry, a basil leaf, or a lime wheel on top.

Hand-Shaken Daiquiri

2 oz white rum

.75 oz lime juice

.75 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake, and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a strawberry slice, basil leaf, or lime wheel.

Hurricane

1 oz light rum

1 oz dark rum

.5 oz lime juice

.5 oz orange juice

.5 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

.25 oz passionfruit puree or juice

Make it Zero Proof: Skip the liquor and add extra fruit juice, like pineapple, or coconut water

I can't tell you how many absolutely disgusting versions of this drink I've had, but we took it back to the Hurricane's roots for a good quality, won't make you black out, won't make you barf, version of this New Orleans classic. The only tough-to-find ingredient in this drink is the passionfruit puree, but you should be able to at least find passionfruit juice at most Whole Foods. To mix it up, add all the ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake until cold, and strain into a Hurricane glass.

Margarita

2 oz tequila

1 oz lime juice

.5 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

.25 oz orange liqueur

Make it Zero Proof: skip the tequila and orange liqueur and top with soda water or ginger beer. A salt rim adds extra authenticity!

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake, and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a strawberry slice, fresh basil leaf, or lime wedge. Optional: add a salt rim by running a lime wedge around an empty rocks glass and dipping it into a plate of salt. The sugar content of the lime makes the salt stick!

Pimms Cup

1 oz Pimms Liqueur

1 oz gin

1 oz lemon juice

.5 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

5-6 cucumber slices

Top with soda water

Make it Zero Proof: Skip the Pimms and gin and add 2 oz iced black tea

This cocktail looks really beautiful if you throw some fresh strawberries and basil in with your cucumber, but if you're just looking for the flavor our syrup will do the trick. Place your cucumber slices in a Collins glass, add your lemon juice and simple syrup, and muddle to your liking. Add the gin, Pimms, and ice, then top with soda water. Use the bottom of a shaker to toss the cocktail back and forth a few times to mix. Garnish with a cucumber slice.

Strawberry Lemondrop

2 oz vodka

1 oz lemon juice

.5 oz orange liqueur

.5 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake until the shaker is too cold to hold, then strain into a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a slice of strawberry or lemon wheel.

Strawberry Smash

2 oz vodka or gin

1 oz lemon juice

.75 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

5-6 fresh basil leaves

Make it Zero Proof: skip the vodka/gin, this drink is delicious without!

Add basil leaves, lime juice, and Strawberry Basil simple syrup to a Collins glass. Muddle lightly, then add liquor, ice, and top with soda water. Garnish with a basil sprig.

Strawberry Basil Lemon-Limeade (Zero Proof)

1 oz Strawberry Basil Crescent Simples

.75 oz lemon juice

.75 oz lime juice

Top with soda water

Feel free to get creative with this recipe -- use whatever citrus or syrup you have on hand. We personally really love our Strawberry Basil in lemonades and limeades, so we decided to use the syrup to create a mixture of both. You can build this one right in the glass -- just add your ingredients to a glass with ice and give it a stir with a barspoon or butter knife to combine.
